Charity Week is a nationwide project which the Loughborough ISoc has committed itself to for a number of years.
The ISoc organises and manages a number of fundraising events including bake sales, bucket collections, charity dinners, charity hikes, auctions as well as hosting large sports tournaments. All proceeds would be directed towards long-term developmental projects across the world which would come to the benefit to orphans and needy children.
However for us, charity week involves more than just fundraising. It is an opportunity to engage and inspire all Muslims upon campus through a united effort to work towards the alleviation of poverty globally and locally. We involve all in the participation within project management, organisational set-up of events as well as liaising and networking between members of the campus community, equipping one with the skills that would continue beyond charity week itself.
